Privacy policy

Kesrol is an iPhone app that helps you prepare to ask your manager for a raise. It is made by OM Innovation AI Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Kesrol", "we" or "us"). This policy explains what the Kesrol app and this website (kesrol.com) collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how you can delete it.

The short version

  • Your evidence (wins, notes, photos and files), your script, your practice answers and your rehearsal transcripts are stored on your iPhone. We don't receive them, except the parts you choose to send to the AI coach.
  • To run your account and your plan, our servers keep a small set of details tied to a random account id, not to your name or email.
  • The AI coach sends text to OpenAI only after you agree, and only the details listed in section 4.
  • We don't sell your information, show ads or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
  • You can delete your account and data in the app at any time.
  • Kesrol is for adults 18 and over in the United States.

1. What stays on your iPhone

These are stored on your iPhone and are not sent to our servers:

  • your wins, their notes, and any photos or files you attach to them;
  • your current pay in dollars, if you enter it (our server receives only where it falls in the pay range; see section 2);
  • your script and your practice answers;
  • your coach rehearsal transcripts and rewritten scripts;
  • your AI coach consent choice;
  • your reminders, which are scheduled on your iPhone. We don't use a push-notification service.

The one exception is the AI coach. When you use it, the details listed in section 4 are sent for that request. If we change what stays on your iPhone, we'll update this policy before the change takes effect.

The app doesn't ask for access to your contacts, photo library, camera, location or microphone. When you attach a photo or file, you pick it with the system picker, which shares only that item with the app.

2. What we collect

Your account

When you first open Kesrol with an internet connection, it creates an anonymous account with Firebase Authentication, a Google service. That account has a random account id. If you sign in with Apple, Apple gives us a stable identifier for your Apple Account and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we receive a private relay address instead of your email.

Your plan, if you sign in with Apple

So you can restore your plan on a new device, we sync these details to your account: your conversation date, time and time zone; your target pay and your fallback ask; your occupation and area; which steps you've done; and the outcome you record, with any date you pick to ask again. Your script, practice answers, wins, notes, photos, files and current pay are never synced.

Planning details

To run and improve Kesrol, our server keeps these details, tied to your random account id and not to your name or email:

  • your occupation code, state and area, years of experience and industry;
  • where your target falls in the pay range for your occupation and area (not the dollar amount);
  • where your current pay falls in that range, only if you entered it (not the dollar amount);
  • the month of your conversation, the steps you've done, and the outcome you record (yes, partial, not now or no);
  • how many coach requests you've made, and any error codes.

Because these details are tied to an account id, they are pseudonymous, not anonymous.

Purchases

Apple processes the one-time purchase. We never see your card or payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your purchase is active. RevenueCat receives your account id, your purchase history, and basic information about your device and app version.

Coach allowance

Each purchase includes a set number of coach script rewrites and rehearsal sessions. We count how many your purchase has used, and we keep daily usage limits for each account. See section 7 for how the purchase count is stored.

Reports

If you report a coach reply, we store the reply, the reason you pick, any note you add, the type of request and the time, with your account id so we can act on the report. Only our server and our team can read reports.

Support messages

If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write. A message started from the app's Settings also includes the app version and a support code (the first 8 characters of your account id).

Server logs

Our coach server logs each request's account id, request type, status, error code, size and response time. The logs never contain your messages or the coach's replies.

This website

kesrol.com is a static website. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs, such as IP address, the page requested, the referring page and browser type, to run and secure the site. We may count visits that arrive through a partner link (a link that ends in something like ?ref=partner). If you follow a link from this website to the App Store, Apple may tell us which link led to a download, without identifying you.

3. How we use it

  • to provide the app: your account, sign-in, restoring your plan and checking your purchase;
  • to run the AI coach, including its allowance and daily limits;
  • to keep Kesrol secure, prevent abuse and control costs, including reviewing reports and pausing the coach for an account that misuses it;
  • to understand how people use Kesrol and improve it, using the planning details in section 2;
  • to answer support messages;
  • to meet legal obligations.

4. The AI coach

The coach is AI. Its replies are written by OpenAI's models. Nothing is sent to OpenAI until you agree on the coach consent screen in the app, and every coach request starts with a tap from you.

When you use the coach, the app sends these details to our server, which sends them to OpenAI to write a reply:

  • your occupation and area;
  • your target and your fallback ask;
  • the titles and one-line summaries of the wins you choose;
  • your script;
  • the rehearsal conversation;
  • your current pay, only if you switch on "Include my current pay", which is off by default.

We never attach your account id, email, name, evidence notes, photos, files, or wins you didn't choose. Anything you type into your script or a rehearsal is sent as you wrote it, so leave out names and details you don't want sent.

Our server doesn't store your messages or the coach's replies. Transcripts and rewritten scripts stay on your iPhone, unless you report a reply (section 2). Each reply passes an automated moderation check before you see it.

OpenAI may keep the text it receives for a limited time to check for abuse, and longer where its terms allow, for example where the law requires it. OpenAI does not use it to train its models. You can turn the coach off in Settings at any time. After that, nothing more is sent.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that work for us, for the purposes in this policy:

  • Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions): accounts, synced plans, planning details, reports and the coach server;
  • Apple: Sign in with Apple and payment for the purchase;
  • RevenueCat: checking your purchase;
  • OpenAI: writing coach replies, only after you agree;
  • our website host: serving kesrol.com.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety or our legal rights, or to a buyer or successor as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, under the terms of this policy.

We don't sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. The app has no ads and no advertising identifier, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

6. How long we keep it

  • Account, synced plan and planning details: until you delete your account.
  • Daily coach limits: they expire after 8 days.
  • Server logs: 30 days.
  • Reports: 1 year, or until you delete your account, if that's sooner.
  • The coach count for your purchase: kept after you delete your account (section 7).
  • Support messages: as long as we need them to help you and keep a record of the request.
  • Website request logs: for the limited time our hosting provider keeps them.

7. Deleting your account and data

In the app, go to Settings and tap Delete account and data. It works whether or not you signed in. When you delete your account:

  • the app clears your plan, evidence, script, rehearsals, coach consent and reminders from your iPhone;
  • if you signed in with Apple, the app asks you to confirm with Apple and then revokes Kesrol's Sign in with Apple access;
  • the app signs you out of RevenueCat on your iPhone. RevenueCat keeps its record of your purchase under your old account id, and we don't ask RevenueCat to delete it;
  • we delete your Kesrol account, and our server then deletes your synced plan, planning details, daily coach limits and reports;
  • server logs expire on their own after 30 days.

One thing we keep. We keep the count of how many coach rewrites and rehearsals your purchase has used, so deleting your account and restoring the purchase doesn't reset the allowance. The count is stored under a one-way code made from your App Store purchase, not under your account. It has no name, email, account id or message content attached. Because the same purchase always produces the same code, the count is pseudonymous, not anonymous.

Your purchase stays with your Apple Account. Deleting your Kesrol account doesn't refund it, and you can restore it later with Restore purchases.

If you can't use the app, use the contact details on our Support page and we'll delete what we hold about you.

8. Adults in the United States only

Kesrol is for adults 18 and over, and it is offered only in the United States. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we'll delete it.

9. Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Our database rules let each account read and write only its own data, and our service keys stay on our servers, never in the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on the state you live in, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising (we do neither), and to appeal if we turn down your request. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

To make a request, use the contact details on our Support page. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you, for example by asking for the support code shown in the app.

11. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.

12. Contact

To reach us about privacy, use the contact details on our Support page.
